Automatically BCC Gmail Emails on a Mac
Posted by Tim Bourquin Comments (1)
I have been looking for a solution to automatically BCC any outgoing email or reply in Gmail within the Mac Safari and Mac Chrome browsers. There is one solution out there involving adding a script on top of an extension, but I found it unreliable and difficult for a non-programmer like myself to manage.
So I had a developer build a Safari and Chrome extension for me that automatically adds an email address to the BCC field in Gmail specifically when you are using it in Safari or Chrome on a Mac.
The link to download it is below, but before you do, you need to know about a few of its limitations:
1. The auto BCC extension only works when you are NOT using the preview pane mode. So you’ll need to be using the “No Split” view in Gmail.
2. This extension only works on Safari or Chrome for Mac (not Windows)
3. The extension runs locally on your computer so it won’t be active when you login to Gmail on your mobile phone.
Safari for Mac:

Chrome for Mac:

Once you have downloaded the extension from the link below, double click it to install it in Safari or Chrome. Once installation is finished, there is no confirmation.
To set the BCC email in Safari:
- go into Safari > Preferences > Extensions
- find the extension autoBcc and enter the email address you want to BCC on every email.
To set the BCC email in Chrome:
- go into Chrome > Preferences > Extensions
- find the autoBCC extension and click on “Options”
- enter email to BCC automatically
